Secret Struggle
Super Hubert is a tall Skinny man that weighs 53kilos and is about 185 centimeters tall has been through a lot in life including two bouts of Cancer and burnt fingers from a bad business deal.
Nothing seems to keep him Down for long and little has deterred him from pursuing the magical dreams he first conquered as a teenager, although his life has taken some strange twists and turns along the way.
The outrageous Character first made his debut in 1978 in Muswellbrook .Primary School in the Upper Hunter of NSW.
His alto ego, Hugh (Mums the word on his last name in the interests of retaining a bit of mystery) made his debut into the World in Liverpool England and moving to Sydney at a young age then moved to Newcastle in 1971.
Magic to him wasn't far away even though it came from humble beginnings . I never ever said I wanted to be a magician. I was fascinated by the novelties like most kids. As soon as I left School all my pay went on magic tricks.
The Magician Super Hero loves life indeed he lives to make people laugh. Entertaining he says is the kryptonite that keeps me going.
Hubert has many stories to tell but one of his favorites is that One Day he was bored and decided to go and change into his Superman outfit and started running around the Streets of Cardiff letting off his firecracker wands Hubert said " I ran into the Commonwealth Bank and jumped up on the enquiry counter and let off a few bangs. There was no laugh.. Out the corner of my eye I saw a lady stuffing $2000 she has just withdrawn to buy a horse into her bra. Everyone thought it was some new way to stage a stick up . I also did the same thing in another bank and haven't done it since".
Hubert does a lot of Charity Work too. helping those less fortunate than ourselves, charities like the Variety Club.
Hubert does a lot of TV and Radio Work. He works for Radio 2HD doing Wake Up Calls Every Wednesday.
When asked Hubert what has been the Highlight of his Magical Career he said it was running the Olympic Torch for the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Hubert's advice for Mortals magicians is that young people have to start the way we all start. Very hard to tell them how to be good. No one ever told me a thing. I suppose you have to act the part, but if you want to entertain you've got to be yourself. You've got to be more outspoken on stage and you use your magic to entertain. Magic is my way of getting on stage, everything you see on stage is 100% of me.
