ABOUT ME
I
have had a tough, but blessed life. When I was 2 and a half years of age I
was diagnosed with having Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy. I have epilepsy,
which, at an earlier part of my life, left me paralysed down the left side
of my body due to having a Grand Mal seizure which lasted 4 hours. After
many years and months of rehabilitation, I am now leading as normal a life
as possible.
When I was in Primary School I would suffer from a grand mal seizure every
3 weeks
which led to many overnight stays in hospital.
My epilepsy is now under control, with appropriate medication, and I do not suffer tonic clonic seizures (Grand Mal) as often as I used to. The doctors told my parents, when I was younger, ( before the age of three) that I would never live to reach the age of 8 years old. I guess I proved them wrong.
My Magical Career started back in 1983 when I started learning this wonderful art at the Young Peoples Theatre under the watchful eye of Rex Sinclair better known as Uncle Rex.
I suffer from Epilepsy with a slight case of Cerebral Palsy due to been paralysed down the left side of my body. I had to learn to Walk and Talk once again which took me 3 months.
I was a Chronic Stutterer where there were times that no-one could understand a word I said until I started learning Magic. I slowly started building up my Self Confidence and along with Speech Therapy I began to slowly speak with out stuttering.
My first Show was held at an Old Peoples Home in Newcastle. It went off beautifully until I realised after the Show I did the one thing you don't ever do in a Magic Show. Without knowing I was standing in front of a mirror yep they could see how I did every trick.
I won my first award in Magic in 1987 at a Magicians Convention in Newcastle. Later that year I attended my first IBM (International Brotherhood of Magicians) Convention meeting Magicians from all over the World. It was there I got a taste of real Magic. I met many magicians who have helped me develop more into the art of Magic.
It was from there that I started doing Magic at Kids Birthday Parties and promotional events in the Maitland area.
I just recently in 2002 went to a Magicians Convention where upon I met some of the Worlds finest Magicians.
